About WMU Traverse City

The only Western Michigan University campus in northern Michigan, the Traverse City Campus provides graduate certificates and programs to residents in the area.  In operation since 1996, the Traverse City Campus is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Located at the Northwestern Michigan College University Center, the WMU Traverse City Campus is one of 11 members of the collaborative educational partnership.  The University Center has a campus environment with comfortable classrooms, a computer library with internet access, student lounge and snack areas and convenient parking.  WMU courses are taught by full time faculty members and qualified part time instructors.

The Traverse City Campus currently offers several masters programs and graduate certificate programs to students who travel from various locales in northern Michigan.  The majority of the students are working adults so classes are scheduled during evenings and weekends with students’ busy lives in mind.
